Originally built as a palace in 1876 the building was carefully renovated into a hotel in 1998 and still conserves many of its original features and character of its neoclassical style: the facade has romantic and baroque details; there is a generous entrance that would have been used for the transit of old carriages, that leads up to a magnificent interior courtyard, which today is the hotel's reception and bar from which you can admire the marble stairs that take you up to the 74 rooms set over 5 floors. The rooms have been carefully decorated in yellows and the furniture and bed covers with their soft blue colour make an attractive contrast. Rooms are also well-equipped and all have Sky TV with pay per view movies.
A 2-night minimum stay applies for all weekends from 1 April until 31 October (except in July and August).
Start the day with a buffet breakfast, served in a marquee in the hotel garden. Delicious Catalan cuisine is served at the hotel’s new El Jardí de l’Angel restaurant, open for lunch and dinner (13.00-16.00 and 20.00-23.00). Located in a building belonging to the Artistic Heritage list of Barcelona, the Catalonia Albinoni hotel has an excellent location above a main pedestrian street, between the Barrio Gótico and Plaza de Catalunya. Surrounding the hotel, you will find all the emblematic sites of the city such as the Cathedral, Las Ramblas and the Paseo de Gracia with its Modernist-style buildings and the most famous shopping boutiques.
